Adding the Asset Field to Your Customer Portal

This guide will walk you through how to add the Asset field to your request types, ensuring that your team can provide relevant asset information where it’s needed most.

⚠️ It’s important to note that only site or org admins can configure Customer Portal Settings ⚠️

Adding the Asset Field to Your Customer Portal

To add the Asset field to your Customer Portal please, navigate to AMFJ Settings Customer Portal

  1. Field Name

In the Field Name section, enter the label you want to appear on your Customer Portal. For example, we've called ours "Assets," but you can choose any label that makes sense for your organization.

  2. Define Request Types

In the Request Types section, you can begin by typing a few characters or the entire request type. A dropdown list will appear for you to select from, making it easy to customize which Request Types will display the Linked Asset field on your Customer Portal.

Your JSM service project name will appear first followed by the Request Type.

ie: IT Board - Get IT Help as shown in the screenshot below.

  3. Save

Click Save to apply your settings.

Your customers or end users can easily find and select their specific assets by typing their Jira username into the search bar. They can also search using the asset number or other unique identifiers, such as the serial number.
